Artist's Statement: Inspired by the "fish-scale stone embankment," this work arranges and layers glass bodies in a fish-scale-like overlapping formation. Subtle color gradients create a visual rhythm in the overall form, echoing the musical genes of the ancient town. Glass appears solid at room temperature, yet its molecular structure is liquid—establishing a connection with the fluidity of tidal waters. Glass is honored as the foremost of the Seven Treasures of Buddhism. Buddhist tradition holds that glass embodies the ultimate state of spiritual cultivation through millennia of practice. Among all scriptures, "purity of form and spirit like glass" is regarded as the highest achievement of Buddhist self-cultivation. Its transparent and noble quality makes the space more radiant. Drawing on the imagery of the tidal waters of Yanguan, the work transforms the sound of waves into visual parametric wave textures. Using translucent and ever-changing glass hues, it constructs a frozen surge of emerald waves. Light flows and drifts among the green tones, while program-controlled backlighting bathes the surface, endowing this monumental wave wall with surging vitality even within stilled time.
