Artwork Description

By harnessing the effect of prisms on light and the principle of chromatic dispersion of composite light, the artwork projects the seven colors of the dispersed spectrum onto the site, creating a radiant and vibrant space. A mechanical device is additionally employed to rotate the prisms in an offset manner, causing the colorful shadows refracted through the prisms to dance and leap across the environment with the motion, fully revealing the fluidity of light as a medium. Sleek metal forms suspend the prisms in the air. When viewers approach the piece, a sensor system is triggered, accelerating the rotational rhythm of the drive shaft connected to the prisms. The dappled light and shadows fall upon people, objects, and the surroundings, forming an interactive and playful kaleidoscopic "time tunnel." The work aims to express the interdependent relationship among light, color, people, and environment.
